Dr. Seuss is On The Loose at Park Avenue!

Park Avenue Elementary will celebrate the 114th birthday of Dr. Seuss during the week of February 26th. Dr. Seuss authored more than 60 children’s books that foster a love of reading and silliness in kids around the world. He gave advice on everything from trying new foods (Green Eggs and Ham) to showing respect (The Cat in the Hat) to taking your place in the world (Oh, the Places You ‘ll Go) in fun fashion.

The following quote is a great inspiration for our students:The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”

Have your kids get into the spirit of celebration and learning by participating in the following Dress Up Days:

Monday, Feb. 26: Celebrate There’s a Wocket in my Pocket by having students wear as many pockets as they can.

Tuesday, Feb. 27: Honor Green Eggs and Ham by wearing the color green.

Wednesday, Feb. 28: Celebrate Fox in Socks by wearing crazy socks to school.

Thursday, March 1: Get your The Cat in the Hat on by wearing black, red and/or white. (Blue Thing 1 and Thing 2 hair is optional!)

Friday, March 2: Wear yellow in honor of The Lorax.

Continue the fun at Merle Hay Mall on Tuesday, March 6th with the NEA Read Across America 2018 event from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
