The Pennies for Patients fundraiser was a huge success at Park Avenue this year. Our students worked together to raise almost $900 to send directly to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Des Moines Parks and Recreation and Des Moines Public Schools are partnering to offer a youth basketball league for the 2014-2015 season. The program is for students in grades 1st through 7th. Park Avenue Elementary School held their annual field day on September 26th. To raise money for the school’s PTA, raffle tickets were sold to students for the chance to throw a pie at Principal Dianna Anderson, Tonya Bergmann, Allie Mackey, or Laura Steward. After the pies were thrown, school members completed the Ice Bucket Challenge.
