Biography

Hello- this is my fourth year as the school nurse at Park Avenue Elementary, and my twenty-fourth year working at schools on the southwest side of Des Moines. I received my BSN from the University of Iowa College of Nursing, and remain a big fan of the Hawkeyes. I have two grown daughters, and one of the things I enjoy most is traveling to visit them. I also enjoy bicycling and playing with my rescue dogs, Gracie and Kassie.

My goal is to continue to demonstrate healthful habits for our students, and to inspire a desire in our students to make healthful choices that will enhance their lives now and in the future.

I love being here at Park Avenue and working with our students, staff and families. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

Biography

Hello Park Avenue families and friends! I am starting my 5th year here at Park Avenue, though this is my 8th year with DMPS.  I enjoy greeting your students, and helping them get their day off to a great start.  I love to read, and am very excited about Mrs. Hurt and Mrs. Allen's work on the Reading Challenge. While I am related to people who have graduated from both Iowa and Iowa State, you can find me cheering on the Drake Women's basketball and volleyball teams.
