Pillow Blanket Reading Challenge
Park Avenue promotes literacy by holding four Reading Challenges each year, led by Mrs. Allen (academic Interventionist) and Mrs. Hurt (Librarian). Prize tickets are earned by reading!
The current contest is the Pillow Blanket Reading Challenge. Kids can earn a cuddly pillow that turn into a blanket. Entries are due March 8th, with winners drawn on or about the 9th. Prizes are displayed in the library.
Here’s how the students earn their tickets:
Kindergarten & First Grade Students: Read a book with a parent and bring back a note signed by an adult with your name, the name of the book you read and which pillow blanket you hope to win.
Second through Fifth Grade Students: Read 20 minutes a night; bring back a note signed by an adult with your name, the name of the book you read and which pillow blanket you hope to win..
Notes are to be turned in to Mrs. Hurt in the library.
