I have two teenagers and a husband who works in healthcare. I also have three pets at home. l love to read, write, and I also play the violin and ukelele. Professionally, I attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln and received my degree in Elementary Education in 1996. I received my master’s in special education from the University of Nebraska Omaha in 2018. This is my 16th year of teaching and my second year working for DMPS. I am excited to be working in the Park Avenue neighborhood and look forward to connecting with students and families.

Hello Park Avenue Families! My name is Rachel Studer and this is my second year at Park Avenue Elementary School. I am from the Des Moines area and graduated from Valley High School. I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa majoring in elementary education with minors in special education and social emotional learning. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, yoga, and cooking. I look forward to another great year of learning, growth, and excitement!
