Thank you to those volunteers who joined us in the garden on Saturday, October 15th. What a great day! The garden is now officially ready for winter. We harvested a bunch of sweet potatoes, and once they are processed we will share them with our students. We look forward to seeing you in the spring!

Park Avenue students broadened their horizons, trying jicama. The taste test is part of the “Pick a Better Snack” program. Students learned that the crunchy jicama (HEE-kah-mah) helps build their immune systems. Jicama has it’s roots in Mexico and South America. Ask your student about its sweet, nutty flavor.
